Presentation slides, videos, and event write-ups have begun to surface from FOSDEM (the Free and Open Source Software Developers' European Meeting), which took place Feb. 7-8 in Brussels. The event attracted developers working on a wide variety of open source projects, including Gnome, Mozilla, Free Java, and of course, "Embedded."
The Embedded track was actually given the largest room at the event, with a capacity of 500, attesting to what's currently hot in the computing market. Embedded sessions included talks on OpenWRT, Wt, power management, Buglabs, OpenMoko, Maemo on the OMAP3-based Beagle Board, Emdebian, PTXdist, 1-wire in solar apps, and more.
Besides Embedded, other "developer rooms" were devoted to Ada, BSD+PostgreSQL, CrossDesktop, Debian, Drupal, Lameere, Fedora+CentOS, Free Java, GNOME, GNUstep+OpenGroupware+Etoile, Jabber+XMPP, KDE, Mozilla, MySQL, OpenOffice.org, Open Source Initiative, openSUSE, Ruby and Rails, and X.org.
LXer appears to have some of the most comprehensive reporting on the event. It's recap of Day 1 can be found here, while Day 2 is written up here. Additionally, the Debian project has collected several videos of Debian-related sessions at the event, here. The official event website can be found here. It also looks like Free Electrons attended the event, so look for them to release videos of the embedded sessions, in time.
